Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix is the capital city of Arizona and is located in the central region of the state. People may know it for its year-round sun, desert beauty, and world-class resorts and golf, but as the fifth-largest city in the U.S., it also offers sophisticated urbanscapes, southwest culture and lots of outdoor adventure.

 

Sedona

Sedona, Arizona attracts nature lovers, geology enthusiasts, adventure seekers, foodies, art lovers and curious travelers from around the world. Located in the center of Arizona, Sedona is 100 miles North of Phoenix. The iconic mountains of Sedona are formed from layers of sandstone in various shades of bright, bold red. Many people believe that the red rocks of Sedona are an Energy Vortex of healing properties. There is much debate and discussion around the magical properties of the area, but most visitors will agree that the red rocks are stunning!

Oak Creek Canyon

Enjoy the grandeur of nature in Oak Creek Canyon, the incomparable setting for Zane Gray's Call of the Canyon, written here in 1921. As you travel north you will sightsee along the canyon's towering red sandstone cliffs, which are home to a multitude of wildlife.

 

Grand Canyon National Park

See "One of the Wonders of the World," Grand Canyon National Park. This 1.2 million acre national park hosts a vast variety of wildlife and scenic wonders. Learn about the geology and history of the canyon while taking in its breathtaking beauty at all the best view points along the South Rim including Grand Canyon Village. The Colorado River is the main contributor in the creation of the vast canyon and can still be seen carving its way through the rock roughly a mile below. After time to visit many scenic points. Join the group for a welcome dinner.

 

Cameron Trading Post

Enter the Navajo Nation and make our first stop at the Cameron Trading Post. Here you will find authentic jewelry, blankets, pottery, rugs, and sand paintings, all produced by the local Indians.

 

Monument Valley Guided Tour

Meet your Navajo guide and board a 4-wheel drive vehicle for a scenic tour of Monument Valley, location for scores of famous western films, television programs and commercials. As we travel through the valley and visit famous locations such as John Ford Point, Artist Point and The Totem Pole, we will also learn more of the Navajo traditions and way of life. Then experience an evening of Navajo culture, food, and entertainment.

 

Edge of the Cedars Museum & Ruins

Travel north to Blanding where the history of the Anasazi Indians will come alive as you learn of their past and discover their artifacts at Edge of the Cedars Museum & Ruins.

 

Arches National Park

The 18,000 square-foot visitors center will introduce you to the unique geologic forces that created the highest concentration of natural arches in the world with over 2,000 named arches within its 73,000-acre boundary. Visit all the park highlights including Park Avenue, Balance Rock, The Windows, and Delicate Arch.

 

Sunset Jet Boat Ride

Take a Sunset Jet Boat Ride on the mighty Colorado River through spectacular red rock canyons. As the sun dips in the west, the canyon colors come to life while you learn about the river's ecosystem, geology, and history. After a thrilling ride, enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner served on the banks of the Colorado River.

 

Dead Horse Point State Park

The view from Dead Horse Point is one of the most photographed scenic vistas in the world. Towering 2,000 feet above the Colorado River, the overlook provides a breathtaking panorama of Canyonlands' sculpted pinnacles and buttes.

 

Capitol Reef National Park

Located in south-central Utah in the heart of red rock country, Capitol Reef National Park is a hidden treasure filled with cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges in the Waterpocket Fold, a geologic monocline (a wrinkle on the earth) extending almost 100 miles.

 

Scenic Highway 12

Drive on one of America's most spectacular roads. Scenic Highway 12 has been designated as an "All American Road," the crown jewel of the Scenic Byways system. Drive up and over Boulder Mountain reaching altitudes over 9,000 feet with incredible views of Capitol Reef, the Circle Cliffs, and the Henry Mountains.

 

Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument

Travel through Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument with vast expanses of cream and rose colored Navajo sandstone. There are dramatic cliffs, high mesas, beautiful streams and deep canyons in multi-hued colors across the 1.9 million acre monument.

 

Bryce Canyon National Park

Surround yourself with the beauty of Bryce Canyon National Park. Lose yourself in the orange hoodoos and stunning vistas.Thousands of delicately carved spires rise in brilliant color from the amphitheaters of Bryce Canyon National Park. Millions of years of wind, water, and geologic mayhem have shaped and etched the pink cliffs at Bryce, which isn't actually a canyon but the eastern slope of the Paunsaguant Plateau.

 

Zion National Park

Utah's First National Park. Follow the paths where ancient native people and pioneers walked. Gaze up at massive sandstone cliffs of cream, pink, and red that soar into a brilliant blue sky. Experience wilderness in a narrow slot canyon. Zion's unique array of plants and animals will enchant you as you absorb the rich history of the past and enjoy the excitement of present day adventures.

 

Las Vegas, Nevada

"The Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas. It is famous for its luxury hotels, casinos, and nightclubs, located in the area known as "the Strip".

With over 35 years of experience, Western Leisure's goal is to provide travelers with an unforgettable experience featuring sightseeing, history, culture, and fun!

 

This tour requires average physical activity. Participants should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven ground or unpaved trails. This tour covers areas of higher altitudes including overnight locations above 7,000 feet and touring above 9,000 feet.

 

Deposit

The deposit is $300 per person. The final payment is due by 6/4/2023.

 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation penalties: Without travel protection, if cancellation occurs from booking date to 6/3/23, a $25 per person penalty will be assessed. If cancellation occurs between 6/4/23 to 7/9/23, a $300.00 per person penalty will be assessed.If cancellation occurs between 7/10/23 and 9/22/23, the passenger is in full penalty and no refund will be granted. In addition to the cancellation polices listed above, if additional payments have been made to Starr for the purpose of securing your airline reservation, these monies are non-refundable once received. Any name changes after final payment is made will be assessed a per person change fee. The amount of the fee will be determined by the airline.

Day 1

Fly into Phoenix. A shuttle transfer will take you to your hotel. Your Tour Director is there to greet you & assist with check-in. Dinner is on your own this evening but meet the group in the lobby and indulge yourself with the hotel's Kickback with a rotating menu of dinnertime snacks, cold beverages, beer, wine & more from 5:30-7pm.

Day 2

Travel through the desert into the high plateaus. Continue into the heart of redrock country, and the resort town of Sedona. We'll step back in time for a fun tour aboard the Sedona Trolley. Trade the charm of this bustling village for the grandeur of nature in Oak Creek Canyon. This afternoon travel to Grand Canyon National Park for sightseeing. This 1.2-million acre National Park hosts a vast variety of wildlife & scenic wonders. After time to visit many of the scenic points, check into the hotel just outside the park. Join the group for a welcome dinner.

Day 3

Take in more sightseeing of the Grand Canyon. We will explore the views & area of the Grand View and Desert View before exiting the park. Then enter the Navajo Nation & make our first stop at the Cameron Trading Post. Here you will find authentic jewelry, blankets, pottery, rugs, and sand paintings. Next, you are on your way to an area that has been called the "Eighth Wonder of the World," Monument Valley, on the Navajo Indian Reservation. You will be
immersed in the rich cultural heritage of the "Dineh" people. Meet your Navajo guide and board a 4-wheel drive vehicle for a scenic tour of Monument Valley - visit famous locations such as John Ford Point, Artist Point & The Totem Pole. Then experience an evening of Navajo culture, food & entertainment.

Day 4

Travel north to Blanding where the Anasazi Indians will come alive today as you learn of their history and discover their artifacts at Edge of the Cedars Museum & Ruins. Next, the town of Moab, also known as the "Adventure Capitol of Utah," and have some free time for shopping and lunch on your own. Then off to nearby Arches National Park for sightseeing. Then join the group for a unique experience as you take a Jet Boat Ride on the mighty Colorado River. As the sun dips in the west, the canyon colors come to life while you learn about the river's ecosystem, geology, and history. After, enjoy a BBQ dinner served on the banks of the Colorado River.

Day 5

Travel to Dead Horse Point State Park for one of the most spectacular scenes in the
southwest. You will see Canyonlands National Park stretching to the south & the mighty Colorado River 2,000 feet below. Next, arrive at Capitol Reef National Park for a wonderful picnic lunch. The park was established to protect a 100-mile wrinkle in the earth's crust called "The Waterpocket Fold". Next enjoy a drive on one of America's most spectacular roads. Scenic Highway 12 has been designated as an "All American Road," the crown jewel of the Scenic Byways system. Then travel through Grand Staircase-Escalante National
Monument, with vast expanses of cream and rose-colored Navajo sandstone. There are dramatic
cliffs, high mesas, beautiful streams & deep canyons in multi-hued colors across the 1.9 million-acre monument.

Day 6

Enter Bryce Canyon National Park for sightseeing. Later, we'll take a short drive to see Utah's oldest & most famous national park, Zion National Park. Tonight gather for our last group dinner to recall all the great times we had in Utah’s Canyon Country.

Day 7

After a leisure morning, we will make our way to Las Vegas, the "The Entertainment Capital of the World". After lunch on own and a city tour, we will check into Treasure Island which is located on the strip.

After breakfast transfer to the Las Vegas Airport for your flight home.
