UVM Morgan Horse Farm

Enjoy a unique experience with the Morgan Horses. The Morgan Horse Farm is a historic horse breeding facility in Weybridge, Vermont. Since 1907, it has been an official breeding site for the Morgan horse, one of the first American-bred horse breeds, and Vermont's official state animal. The breeding program was established in Burlington in 1905, and moved to this site in 1907 by the United States Department of Agriculture, and is now run by the University of Vermont.

 

William Maple Farm

Learn the secrets of making maple syrup and enjoy a traditional "Sugar on Snow" Williams Maple Farm was established in 1976 and is located in the heart of the beautiful Champlain Valley of Vermont. The rich lime stone soil along with their meticulous attention to details in the gathering and processing of the maple sap and then boiling it to perfection they produce some of the very best maple syrup in the world as can be proven by their numerous blue ribbon awards that they have won over the many decades they have been doing it!

Kancamagus Scenic Highway

This is undoubtedly one of the most scenic routes through the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The "Kanc," as locals call it, climbs to nearly 3,000 feet on the flank of Mt. Kancamagus. The Kancamagus Highway was named for an early Indian Chief of the Penacook Confederacy. Called "The Fearless One," Chief Kancamagus tried to keep the peace between his people and the white settlers. However, repeated harassment by the English ended his efforts, bringing war and bloodshed. In the early 1690s, Kancamagus and his followers moved to northern New Hampshire or Canada. Along the highway, you will visit the Rocky Gorge Scenic Area, and see where the Swift River has, over time, worn a narrow cleft through solid stone. Here you can appreciate Mother Nature's handiwork at its best while you wander the paths of the Gorge to lovely Falls Pond.

Enjoy a scenic roundtrip excursion to the summit of Mount Washington aboard the world's first mountain climbing Cog Railway, in the White Mountains of NH.

 

Billings Farm & Museum

Explore this first-class working dairy farm sustained by the Billings and Rockefeller families for over a century, and get comfortable with its famous Jersey cows, sheep, draft horses and chickens through interactive activities and programs. The meticulously restored 1890 Farm House, engaging farm life exhibits, and state-of-the-art theater featuring Academy-Award nominee film, "A Place in the Land," showcase this model farm, a Woodstock landmark since 1871.
