Woodland Farm Brewery

At Woodland, they brew beer that tastes like beer! In a world of craft beer that is more concerned with throwing the kitchen sink into every batch, they proudly brew traditional styles with a focus on lagers and barrel aging. Their taplist covers all varieties from easy drinking European inspired lagers, hoppy IPAs, big malty high-octane beers, and everything in between. With a 10-barrel brewhouse, they are able to produce fresh new batches regularly. They believe that patience and time are an extra ingredient in making beer and give their lagers adequate time to condition. Their barrel aged beers spend from one to three years developing before they are ready to be shared. They source many of our barrels from NYS distilleries, wineries, and cooperages with several of them winning awards across NYS and the USA.

Adirondack Scenic Railroad

Depart Utica's Union Station for a 2 hour ride on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad. Travel through remote forests, past sparkling rivers, ponds and streams into the magnificent beauty of the 6 million acre Adirondack Wilderness. Our one-way rail journey disembarks in Thendara, NY.

Village of Old Forge, NY

Enjoy free time in the Village of Old Forge. Stroll Main Street and see many unique gift shops including Old Forge Hardware. This long-standing staple has served as a bustling center of commerce for more than 100 years. Old Forge is a shopper's dream filled with woodsy gifts, rustic furniture, and locally made goods.

Tour Great Camp Sagamore

The Adirondack Forest Preserve surrounds the entire 27-building Great Camp Sagamore estate owned by the Alfred Vanderbilt family from 1901-1954. This masterpiece of Adirondack architecture was a place where America's most influential people came to take a break from the clamor of modern life. It's wood and stone buildings are the vernacular rustic architecture on which our National Park lodges were modeled.

Raquette Lake Dinner Cruise

Enjoy a Dinner Cruise on Raquette Lake, the Adirondack's largest natural lake! Enjoy breathtaking views and a four-course meal on the W.W. Durant. At one time, Raquette Lake was the playground of the rich and famous, such as JP Morgan, Vanderbilt, Huntington, and Carnegie. Home of the Great Camps style of architecture, there are more Great Camps on or near Raquette Lake than anywhere else in the Adirondack Park.

Steamtown Museum/Train Excursion

At Steamtown, feel the heat from the firebox. Hear the bell and whistle. Smell the hot steam and oil. Feel the ground vibrate under your feet. See the one-ton drive rods turn the wheels. Hear the chuff-chuff-chuff of the smokestack. Relive the era of steam as the engines come back to life. The cinders, grease, oil, steam, people and stories of railroading have returned. Visit the Locomotive Repair Shop housing the machinery used to make parts for steam locomotives, and providing space for repairs and restoration projects. Steamtown offers a Technology Museum and History Museum. These modern buildings explore the people, history, technology and lore of steam railroading. The Scranton Limited Short Train Ride gives visitors a chance to experience riding in an historic commuter car (the cars were built between 1915 and 1935) behind either a vintage steam locomotive or an historic diesel-electric locomotive.

Need to Know:

The Camp Sagamore walking tour takes approximately 1/3 of a mile over very gently sloping paved and flattened paths. For individuals who opt not to take the tour at all, there are PBS documentaries that can be viewed in gift shop theater.
