London

London is one of the great "world cities," and remains a global capital of culture, fashion, finance, politics, and trade. Vibrant and truly multicultural, London is a megalopolis of people, ideas, and energy. The capital and largest city of both the United Kingdom and of England, it is also the largest city in Western Europe. Enjoy a full day on your own to explore the many attractions London has to offer.

 

Stonehenge

Stonehenge is perhaps the world's most famous prehistoric monument. It was built in several stages: the first monument was an early henge monument, built about 5,000 years ago, and the unique stone circle was erected in the late Neolithic period about 2500 BC.

 

Bath

Bath lies astride the River Avon in a natural arena of steep hills. It was built of local limestone and is one of the most elegant and architecturally distinguished of British cities. Its 16th-century abbey church of St. Peter and St. Paul is late Perpendicular Gothic and is noted for its windows, but it is the wealth of classical Georgian buildings mounting the steep valley sides that gives Bath its distinction. The city was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987.

 

Ludlow

Ludlow is a planned Norman town based on a grid system, with a castle at one end of the town and the church at the other. Ludlow's initial stage of development is inexorably linked to power, and regional control. The castle, an emblem of Baronial power, was one of the first in England to be built of stone.

 

Llangollen, Wales

Llangollen, a historic market town in northwestern Wales. It lies in the valley of the River Dee. It is the home of the International Musical Eisteddfod (festival), held there since 1947 to promote international goodwill. Historic local features include Valle Crucis Abbey (established c. 1200), Eliseg's Pillar (a remarkable 9th-century stone cross), Castell-Dinas-Bran (a 13th-century Welsh prince's stronghold gateway), and a 14th-century bridge across the Dee.

 

Liverpool

Its main claim to fame is that Liverpool is the hometown of the rock group, The Beatles. However, the city has many other attractions, including its waterfront with ferry trips, its iconic architecture, the Liverpool Cathedral, the city's museum, and the famous Royal Albert Dock.

 

Grasmere Village

Grasmere is probably the Cumbria's most popular village, thanks to William Wordsworth (1770-1850). Today Grasmere is totally given over to the tourist industry, with plenty of gift shops, places to stay and places to eat. Most of the buildings date from the 19th or early 20th Century, though the farms around Grasmere are much older. The Church dates from the 13th Century.

 

Gretna Green

Gretna Green is a parish in the southern council area of Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, on the Scottish side of the border between Scotland and England, defined by the small river Sark, which flows into the nearby Solway Firth. It was historically the first village in Scotland, when following the old coaching route from London to Edinburgh.

 

Edinburgh

Edinburgh is known for being one of the most beautiful cities in the world, its historic attractions, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and rich history. Widely considered the world's best festival city, it's a powerhouse for the literary arts, comedy, culture, high education, and more

 

Abbotsford

Abbotsford is a historic country house in the Scottish Borders, near Galashiels, on the south bank of the River Tweed. Now open to the public, it was built as the residence of historical novelist and poet Sir Walter Scott between 1817 and 1825.

 

Jedburgh

Jedburgh is a historic royal burgh in the Scottish Borders, 10 miles from the English border. The town's proximity to the border made it a gateway to Scotland, but also made it a target for raids during the centuries of wars between England and Scotland. A very colorful market town and well worth a visit. For a small place it has some pretty iconic buildings that will draw you to it.

 

York

York is a cathedral city with Roman origins at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss in North Yorkshire, England. The city has long-standing buildings and structures, such as a minster, castle, and city walls. The city was founded as Eboracum in 71 AD. The city is one of 15 in England to have a Lord mayor and one of two, with London's, to have the added "The Right Honourable" title.

 

Stratford-Upon-Avon

Stratford-Upon-Avon stands where a Roman road forded the River Avon and a 19th-century bridge still spans the river alongside a 15th-century arched stone bridge. The first royal charter was granted in 1553. The birthplace of William Shakespeare, born in 1564 in a half-timbered house on Henley Street.

Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the period of your stay.

 

Deposit/Final Payment Policy:

• Deposit is $300 per person.

• Final payment is due by 5/11/2024.

 

Accessibility:

• This is a trip for those who are physically fit and can transport their own luggage and walk long distances. This trip is NOT recommended for those who require a walker, wheelchair, or walking assistance of any kind.

• There are no skycaps in Europe and hotels do not always offer luggage handling. DO NOT BRING A extra large/heavy suitcase.

• Not all sightseeing stops/sites accommodate wheelchairs and some locations and sightseeing activities require extensive standing, sitting or walking, sometimes on unpaved or cobblestone streets.

• Globus/Starr is not responsible for any missed activities due to a participant's inability to participate with the group.

• The Americans with Disabilities Act is only applicable within the United States and facilities for disabled individuals are limited outside its borders. Most transportation services, including the touring motorcoaches and cruise ships, are not equipped with wheelchair ramps. Motorized scooters are not suitable on international tours.

 

Cancellation Penalties:

If cancellation occurs from booking date to 5/10/24, a $25.00* per person penalty will be assessed.

If cancellation occurs between 5/11/24 to 7/5/24 a $300.00* per person penalty will be assessed.

If cancellation occurs between 7/6/24 and 9/8/24, the passenger is in full penalty and no refund will be granted.

 

*In addition to the cancellation polices listed above, if additional payments have been made to Starr for the purpose of securing your airline reservation, these monies are non-refundable once received. Any name changes after final payment is made will be assessed a per person change fee. The amount of the fee will be determined by the airline.
