Trip Highlights:

UVM Morgan Horse Farm

Step into a living piece of Vermont history with a guided tour of the UVM Morgan Horse Farm. Nestled in the scenic countryside, this working farm is home to one of the oldest and most celebrated horse breeds in America—the Morgan horse. You'll meet these elegant, versatile animals up close, learn about their remarkable legacy, and see firsthand how they are bred, trained, and cared for. Knowledgeable guides bring the story to life, sharing insights into the breed’s origins, its impact on American agriculture and sport, and the University of Vermont’s role in preserving this iconic lineage. The UVM Morgan Horse Farm offers a unique blend of education and history.

Middlebury, Vermont

Discover the charm of downtown Middlebury, where a walkable village center pairs great food with unique local shopping. After a relaxed lunch featuring locally sourced bites, stroll Main Street, where you’ll find an inviting mix of independent bookstores, boutiques, galleries, and specialty shops—all set against the backdrop of Otter Creek and its scenic falls.

Williams Maple Farm

Experience the sweet tradition of New England at Williams Farm Sugarhouse with an immersive, guided tour that brings maple syrup to life—from tree to table. A family-run operation for generations, the farm has been producing pure maple syrup since the 1800s, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into this time-honored craft. Watch how sap is collected using both modern tubing systems and traditional tapping techniques, then step inside the sugarhouse to see the evaporator in action and learn how fresh sap is transformed into rich, golden maple syrup through a time-tested boiling process. The experience continues in the cozy sales and cooking room, where guests are invited to enjoy a classic seasonal favorite: sugar on snow. As you sample this sweet treat, you’ll have the chance to ask questions, chat with knowledgeable guides, and deepen your appreciation for the craft behind every bottle.

Calvin Coolidge Historic Site

Discover the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, Vermont—one of the best-preserved presidential birthplaces in the country. Visitors can tour historic homes, barns, a one-room schoolhouse, church, and the general store that served the small village where Calvin Coolidge was born, raised, and sworn in as the 30th President of the United States. Knowledgeable guides are stationed at key locations throughout the site, sharing engaging stories, historical context, and fascinating details that bring the village’s history to life. From the family homestead where Coolidge took the presidential oath, to the everyday buildings that shaped rural life in the late 1800s, the site provides a vivid, up-close look at both a president’s roots and a remarkably preserved Vermont village.

Vermont Country Store

The Vermont Country Store offers a shopping experience rooted in classic New England charm and nostalgia. This beloved family-run destination is filled with hard-to-find favorites, practical essentials, and unique finds, from old-fashioned candies and Vermont-made foods, to quality goods, clothing, and home items you won’t see anywhere else. Wander aisles designed to evoke simpler times while browsing thoughtful gifts for every occasion and shelves stocked with both comforting classics and unexpected curiosities. More than just a store, it’s a celebration of Vermont heritage, quality craftsmanship, and the simple pleasure of finding something special in every corner.

Woodstock, Vermont

Enjoy great food and local flavor in one of Vermont’s most picturesque villages, Woodstock. Featuring historic buildings and tree-lined streets, Woodstock offers classic New England charm with easy, walkable access to lunch and shopping. Enjoy a relaxed meal at a local café or restaurant featuring fresh, seasonal fare, then browse a variety of independent shops and specialty stores filled with Vermont-made goods, gifts, and everyday favorites.

Kancamagus Scenic Highway

Experience one of the most picturesque routes through New Hampshire's White Mountains: the famed "Kanc," a local nickname for the Kancamagus Highway. This scenic road climbs nearly 3,000 feet along the flank of Mt. Kancamagus, named after an early Penacook Confederacy Chief known as "The Fearless One." Chief Kancamagus sought peace between his people and settlers, yet faced ongoing English harassment, leading to conflict and his eventual relocation in the 1690s. Along this highway, you'll discover the Rocky Gorge Scenic Area, where the Swift River has sculpted a narrow passage through solid rock over centuries. Here, marvel at Mother Nature's finest craftsmanship while strolling the paths around beautiful Falls Pond.

Mount Washington Cog Railway

Experience the world's first mountain climbing cog railway on a scenic ride to the summit of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast. The round-trip journey lasts approximately three hours, including a stop at the summit, where you can capture breathtaking views and enjoy the natural beauty of the White Mountains. Trains run in all weather conditions, rain, snow, or shine, and may be powered by steam or diesel engines.

Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train

Enjoy a scenic dinner train ride along the fields and forests of the Pemigewasset River and travel through the award-winning Jack O'Lantern Golf Resort in the heart of the White Mountain Region of New Hampshire. Travel in the "Granite Eagle," one of three beautifully restored Pullman dining cars, and indulge in a four-course meal served in the elegant Grand European style. Period music sets the ambiance, blending with the rhythmic rumble of the rails and the nostalgic whistle of the engine. As twilight sets in, relish the romantic atmosphere and imagine yourself transported back in time. The experience spans two hours and covers twenty miles roundtrip.

Squam Lake Boat Cruise

Glide across the pristine waters of Squam Lake, the iconic “Golden Pond” made famous by film and cherished for generations. Discover the lake's rich natural history, its unique wildlife, and hear stories of those who have cherished these waters for over 5,000 years. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of the majestic Common Loons and Bald Eagles that frequent this area. Relax aboard a canopied, heated pontoon boat as you soak in the serene beauty of Squam Lake.

Mill Falls Marketplace

Mill Falls Marketplace in Meredith, New Hampshire is a true Lakes Region gem that blends lakeside beauty with a vibrant village-style shopping and dining experience. Set along brick walkways, flower gardens, and a cascading waterfall overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee, it feels more like a charming open-air village than a traditional shopping center.

Loon Mountain Gondola

Take in the beauty of New Hampshire’s fall foliage from above on a round-trip gondola ride at Loon Mountain. At the summit, enjoy panoramic vistas that highlight the surrounding mountains before your return ride offers another chance to take in the beautiful scenery. • An Eyre Tour Director will accompany you on this trip.

  • Baggage handling at hotels is included.

Accessibility:

  • Mount Washington Cog Railway: Marshfield Base Station is fully accessible, with restrooms in the main and lower lobbies and an elevator providing access to both levels. The Mount Washington State Park Visitor Center at the summit is similarly accessible. However, the passenger coaches are historic in design, with three steps up to the boarding deck, narrow aisles and doorways. A mobility-impaired guest must be capable of negotiating steps (and transferring from a wheelchair)– by themselves or with assistance from others in their group– to their assigned seat on the coach. If space is available, they will transport your folding wheelchair or walker on the train, or they can provide one of theirs for your use at the summit. Due to space and weight limitations, they are not able to transport motorized wheelchairs. For these reasons and others, including weather and terrain conditions at the summit, severely impaired guests may have difficulty with some aspects of the experience.

  • Cafe Lafayette Dinner train is wheelchair accessible

  • Eyre has a select quantity of wheelchair accessible motorcoaches available; therefore, we suggest you contact a Travel Advisor to discuss any needs you may have before reserving your trip.
