Cruise from Point Judith, RI (Galilee/Narragansett) to beautiful Block Island aboard a comfortable ferry, enjoying a scenic one-hour ride across the water. Relax and take in the coastal views while onboard concession stands offer snacks and refreshments for purchase throughout the journey.

Discover the natural beauty and storied past of Block Island on a guided sightseeing tour. Journey across the island to see iconic landmarks, historic lighthouses, and sweeping coastal views. Along the way, your knowledgeable guide will share fascinating tales, local legends, and historical insights that bring Block Island’s unique heritage to life.

After an included sightseeing tour helps acquaint you with the island and its highlights, the remainder of your time on Block Island is yours to enjoy however you choose. Stroll through the charming downtown area filled with unique boutiques, art galleries, ice cream shops, and waterfront restaurants, or simply relax and soak up the laid-back island atmosphere.

 

You may choose to rent a bike, moped, or taxi to further explore the island’s scenic beauty, including dramatic coastal bluffs, rolling green landscapes, and picturesque beaches. Visit iconic sights like the Southeast Lighthouse perched atop the Mohegan Bluffs, enjoy fresh seafood and ocean views at local eateries, search for seashells along the shore, or unwind on the beach with the sound of the waves and refreshing ocean breeze.

 

Meal Information:

 

Lunch on day two is included at the National Hotel

Lunch features lobster, potatoes, vegetable, mussels. Lunch is served with salad, bread, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Soda, coffee, and hot tea are included. Please advise if an alternative entree is needed.

 

Dinner on day three is included at The National Hotel. Choices are:

Need to Know:

  • The motorcoach does not travel on the ferry to Block Island. Guests should bring all personal belongings with them, as they will not have access to the motorcoach during their time on the island.

  • Download "The Block Island App" (free) on your phone/iPad for a guide to activities on Block Island. 

  • National Hotel: while every effort will be made to honor requests for rooms with two beds, please be aware that accommodations may include a room with one queen bed and a cot, based on availability.

  • Every Eyre trip includes deluxe round-trip motorcoach transportation from one or more of our departure locations.

  • An Eyre Tour Director will accompany you on this trip.

  • Baggage handling at hotels is included.

 

Accessibility:

  • National Hotel: There are 15 steps leading up to the hotel lobby. Tour guests can access the lobby without using steps by walking around to the back of the hotel.

  • It is crucial to request a first-floor room at the time of booking, as there are at least 15 steps to the first floor. Guests with walking disabilities may find this challenging and the hotel does not have an elevator.

  • Block Island Ferry: The ferry has about 12 steps from the freight deck to the passenger levels that guests have to navigate.

  • Eyre has a select quantity of wheelchair accessible motorcoaches available; therefore, we suggest you contact a Travel Advisor to discuss any needs you may have before reserving your trip.

Day 1: Hyatt Place Mystic (Mystic, CT)

Hotel features outdoor pool and fitness room, Guest rooms include coffee maker, mini-fridge, microwave, hair dryer, and iron/board

 

Days 2 & 3: The National Hotel (Block Island, RI)

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the National Hotel offers a blend of modern conveniences and nostalgic grace. This three-story Victorian inn, located in Block Island's historic village across from a sandy beach, has been carefully renovated to preserve its charm.

 

The room configurations vary, reflecting the hotel's historic nature, and each room is uniquely decorated to create a relaxing and elegant Victorian ambiance. Amenities include television, hair dryer, and private bath. The hotel's full-service restaurant, the Tap and Grille, provides delightful dining options. The inn is completely non-smoking.

 

Please note: There is no elevator at this historic 3-story inn; there are 16 steps between room floors. There are 15 steps leading up to the hotel lobby; guests may walk around to the back of the hotel to avoid steps to enter the lobby area.
