Step back into a pivotal moment in American history at the Fords Theatre Museum, thoughtfully restored to reflect the night John Wilkes Booth assassinated Abraham Lincoln. One of Washington, D.C.s most visited historic landmarks, the museum features compelling exhibits that explore Lincolns presidency, key events of the Civil War, and the conspiracy surrounding Booths plot.
Visit the Petersen House, located directly across from Fords Theatre. This modest 19th-century home is where Abraham Lincoln was brought after being shot and where he passed away the following morning. Today, the Petersen House offers an intimate and moving look at the events of Lincolns final hours. Explore carefully restored rooms furnished in period style and gain insight into the people and circumstances that shaped this pivotal moment in our nations story.
Originally envisioned by Michael Baron, this music-filled production brings the timeless magic of Dickens' A Christmas Carol to life at the historic Ford's Theatre, where the echoes of history blend with the joy of the season. With beloved characters, iconic ghosts, and a talented children's ensemble, it beautifully captures the heartwarming spirit of the holiday season.
