Long Island Sightseeing tour of North Fork, South Fork and Sag Harbor

En route to Sag Harbor, stop at Conscience Point, where a short walk takes you to the historic landing spot where 20 families from Lynn, Massachusetts, settled in June 1640, establishing Southampton, the oldest English settlement in New York State. Upon arriving in Sag Harbor, founded in 1707, you will explore a port once central to foreign and coastal trade. Designated by President George Washington in 1789 as an official port of entry into the United States, Sag Harbor's illustrious history will be described as you view its immaculately restored neighborhoods and local treasures. Next, cross the bridge into the Peninsula of North Haven and board the ferry to Shelter Island, an 8,000-acre enchanted enclave. The Nature Conservancy owns one-third of the island, preserving its vast forests, wetlands, and natural habitats. Hear about Shelter Island's history as we wind our way through this magical Island nestled between the North and South Forks. Afterward, arrive in Greenport on the North Fork, once a bustling whaling port and the heart of Long Island's oyster industry. Today, it is a vibrant destination attracting visitors from around the world. Travel west along the North Fork Wine Trail. Journey through picturesque villages and past numerous vineyards that make this region a popular destination year-round.

 

Long Island Sightseeing Tour of Hamptons and Montauk

Journey through historic Southampton Village, the oldest English settlement in New York State. As we traverse this charming area, you’ll hear about Southampton’s rich history and see former farmlands now transformed into the estates of celebrated residents. Stop at Cooper's Beach, voted one of America's best beaches. A stroll on Cooper's Beach offers a sublime experience and a glimpse into where Southampton Village residents unwind and enjoy a swim. The tour takes us down Billionaire's Row, showcasing the most expensive homes in the Hamptons owned by some of the country's wealthiest people. Next, we visit Southampton Village's vibrant shopping district. Here, you'll see iconic landmarks such as Hildreth's, America's oldest department store, along with the charming boutiques of Job's Lane and delightful eateries. Travel to America's most expensive zip codes of Sagaponack, Bridgehampton and East Hampton, travelling past some of the most beautiful homes from Steven Spielberg to Ina Garten. In Montauk, learn about its evolution from the home of the Montaukett Indians to a bustling fishing village and now a sought-after destination with beautiful properties, a quaint downtown, and a magnificent harbor. Our tour concludes with a photo opportunity at the Montauk Point Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in New York State, offering breathtaking views and a perfect end to our tour.

Sag Harbor Whaling Museum

The Sag Harbor Whaling Museum is dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and promoting the rich culture of Sag Harbor. Through its extensive collection of historical artifacts related to the village's whaling history and contemporary exhibits and events, the museum provides a comprehensive view of Sag Harbor's past and present, offering valuable context and insight.

 

Dinner at Long Island Aquarium

Enjoy an exclusive private dinner at the Long Island Aquarium, home to one of the largest living coral reef displays in the Western Hemisphere, featuring a stunning 20,000-gallon tank. Dine in a unique setting within the shark tunnel, surrounded by large glass tanks showcasing a variety of sea life exhibits. As you enjoy your meal, feel free to explore the entire indoor space of the aquarium. Interact with rays in Ray Bay, visit the turtle exhibit, stroll over the interior bridge to see large striped bass in the lagoon, marvel at the live reef tank, and walk through the shark tunnel, where you'll encounter several sharks and other large fish while serving yourself from the buffet.

 

Old Whaler's Church

The First Presbyterian Church in Sag Harbor, New York, also known as the Old Whaler's Church, is a historic and architecturally notable Presbyterian church built in 1844 in the Egyptian Revival style. The church is recognized as Sag Harbor's "most distinguished landmark" and reflects the grandeur and importance of the whaling industry to the local community.

 

Meal Information:

 

Dinner on day one is included at Jerry & The Mermaid Restaurant. Choices are:

• Almond Crusted White Fish: broiled with lemon, herbs & compound butter with potato and spring vegetables

• Chicken Parmigiana over Linguini

• Maryland Crab Cakes (2) with remoulade sauce, pea shoots and watermelon radish

• Rigatoni ala Vodka with Cremini Mushrooms

Dinner is served with fresh garden salad, house-baked rolls, and homemade ice cream-stuffed crepe with house-made hot fudge and whipped cream for dessert. Also included is fresh-brewed iced tea, soft drinks, coffee, and tea.

 

Dinner on day three is included at Long Island Aquarium. Choices are:

• Sirloin Steak

• Chicken Francese

• Pasta Primavera

Dinner is served with chef accompaniments, a mixed greens salad, and cheesecake for dessert. Coffee is also included. A cash bar is available.

• Travelers must be 21 years of age to participate in the wine tasting at Raphael Vineyards.

Located at the gateway of Long Island's famed East End and situated along the picturesque Peconic River, the Hyatt Place Hotel is an ideal East End location in downtown Riverhead and conveniently located next to the Long Island Aquarium. The hotel has both indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a fitness room. Guest rooms feature contemporary decor with divided living and sleeping areas, and include coffee maker, mini-fridge, hair dryer, and iron/board.
